With numerous rumors speculating about the removal of the Touch Bar in the upcoming release, a lot of people seem to be happy with the thought of it being gone. Here's a slightly different take.

The OLED emoji strip positioned at the top of the keyboard has been a feature in MacBook Pros since 2016. It has since become somewhat of a meme as it became simply an OLED emoji strip for many Mac users.

With the TouchBar now in its second generation (2019-), not much has changed. Nevertheless, there are certainly fans of the Touch Bar who have set their goals to derive maximal use out of the closest thing to a touch screen we could natively get on a Mac.

The idea behind it is actually a great one, it just sucks that it simply does not perform as robustly as promised. Let's take the feature of predictive text for example, which was demonstrated as one of the awesome uses of the Touch Bar during its unveiling. Have you tried to use it and it is always just a second too late with the suggestion? Yea, despite 5 years of TouchBar MacBooks, the predictive text is still nowhere near in speed in comparison to iPhones.

The Touch Bar's resolution is also a bit low. This of course seems like a weird thing to complain about but I don't think that bumping its resolution slightly would take a drastic effect on the battery life. Seeing the pixelated images on the TouchBar as well as its slow performance really leaves a bad taste when it comes to the user experience.

Instead of killing this off, it would be nice to see a more advanced refresh happen with performance and usability improvements backed up by improved software.

Improve, not remove the Touch Bar is all I'm saying.
